„This piece is inspired by the emotions I have felt during the present pandemic, from despair and anguish to laughter at the mismanagement of certain governments. Biografie

María Gabriela Rubio Hernández was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1999. She is an undergraduate student of musical composition and literature at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. She is the author of the symphonic piece Locomotoras del Progreso (played by the Ibagué Conservatory Orchestra in 2016) and of two theatrical pieces: Petit Dark Cabaret (Bogotá International Cabaret Festival, 2019) and El vino de los amantes (honorary mention at the Universidad de los Andes Composition, Interpretation and Production Contest in 2019). María Gabriela has also been a contrabass player at various orchestras and groups.
